Being a good sport includes being a good loser.  It seems the 'pros' have forgotten those basic rules of good sportsmanship.

After seeing a Detroit and Indiana basketball game end in a riot on the floor and in the stands, it has come to the point that the league needs to reign in the attitudes of some of the players, teams, and probably coaches too.

The knee-jerk reaction to go to fisticuffs has its roots in the participants, not in the sport.   Fights in 'games' happen on the street and should not be tolerated in the arena.  Only way to end it and restore some credibility to professional sports is to take definitive action to stop it, including suspensions and termination.  Termination from the sport, not just the team.

I heard a stat yesterday that surprised me.  It is that more than 50% of pro basketball players have criminal records.  Dittos for professional football as well.  Professional sports should be played by those who no longer need rehabilitating.  The perpetrators of last night's brawl need to go back to rehab and be removed from the team.  Players should be seen as good example
