Major Garrett of Fox News interviewed Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) today, the minority leader in the senate. Major asked the senator 'who is the leader of the Democrat Party?' His answer? "Someone else will have to make that decision. " Major then asked, how about on domestic policy, who is the leader? And to that Reid said "That's really an unfair question." What? What kind of answer is that?
Sounds to me like Dr. Dean, as the Democrat National Committee Chairman, is responsible for the death of the Democrat party like Dr. Kevorkian was for the final demise of his employers.

The left is not happy with Senator Barack Obama, based on a rumor that Senator Barack Obama has been opposing a filibuster of Alito inside the Democratic Caucus. They're not crazy about Hillary either, even though she succumbed to their demands to join their bandwagon to filibuster the Alito vote in the Senate which, BTW was started by the Kennedy twins of Massachusetts. That would be Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. John Kerry, the Kennedy Twins.
BuzzFlash's source for this rumor also correctly informed us that after days of BuzzFlash calling upon Senator John Kerry to live up to his 2003 commitment to lead a filibuster against a candidate with the anti-Constitutional background of Sam Alito that Kerry was now trying to get the caucus to back a filibuster. Indeed, late on Thursday, Kerry's office publicly announced what our source had told us: Kerry would indeed try to filibuster Alito and try to persuade his Democratic colleagues to back him by voting to keep the filibuster alive. He will need 40 other votes.
and
Obama is just as much personna non grata in my political world as is Hillary.
The only democrat so far to say the obvious, if you want to put judges you like on the court, you have to first win elections. The left just can't believe it. It's all a trick, they didn't lose 2 elections, they were both stolen from them. That is their mindset and it's been there since 2000.

Hey Senator Chuck Hagel, try this. You want an explanation? Arrange a meeting with the President in person or on the phone. Show up. Listen. Don't make every single aspect of fighting this war an issue for the Sunday morning talk shows. Act like you're fighting a war against someone who wants to kill you. Not like a politician enjoying face time on television at the expense of our fighting military.
Hagel: Bush Must Explain Spy Program More (AP).
AP - A Republican member of the Senate Intelligence Committee said Sunday that President Bush has more explaining to do on his domestic spy program and cast doubt on the administration's assertion of broad executive power.

Too many people have forgotten the significance of 9/11/01. They have yearned for and now want to believe that things are like they were on 9/10/01. And, given their way, you can count on what happened the next day to happen again. The pre-9/11 world no longer exists. The enemy is both within and outside our borders. Can you say Mexican border? Debra Burlingame makes the case for the Patriot Act and the NSA issue with democrats. The very notion that we have a right to security is, correct.

"I oppose his nomination and support efforts to block his confirmation. I do not think Judge Alito would advance the principles Americans hold most dear." This is Sen. Clinton over Judge Alito's nomination. Are Democrats the ones who did poorly in civics class in high school? Constitutionally, since when is it a judge's job to advance principles? Hillary, judges interpret laws and advance nothing. Principles have nothing to do with it. Maybe it was the phone calls from the rabid left?

The Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, MoveOn.org, George Soros, Michael Moore, and Barbra Streisand wing of the Democrat Party (correction: since they are running the party politics for democrats now, calling it a 'wing' is somewhat a misnomer) will be busy this weekend beating the filibuster drums over the Alito nomination. The desperation in their message is emblematic of how deeply the Democrat party relies on the Judicial branch of government to make laws, totally ignoring the law making body, the Legislative branch.
TODAY, WE MUST SAVE AMERICA
We have just two days to save American Democracy - TODAY and MONDAY.
Through a stunning set of events, John Kerry and Ted Kennedy will lead a filibuster of Sam Alito on Monday.
Senate offices will be closed this weekend, so TODAY WE MUST CALL EVERY DEMOCRATIC SENATOR TO DEMAND SUPPORT FOR THE FILIBUSTER. And we must call them all again MONDAY.
http://democrats.com/alito-48
If we lose the cloture vote on Monday at 4:30 p.m., the Senate will vote at 11 a.m. on Tuesday to put Sam Alito on the Supreme Court with Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and John Roberts - where they will vote in lockstep to ensure that the extremist agenda of the radical right is never blocked by any Court.
And what is that agenda? It is no longer a mystery: allowing a President to start illegal wars, murder civilians and journalists, destroy cities, torture prisoners, lock away citizens at home, and wiretap every email and call in the world. Having the Supreme Court choose Presidents, not the voters. Letting corporations crush their workers and poison the planet. And, of course, outlawing all abortions, even at the cost of women's lives.
The hyperbole is their platform of fear. Not one of safety and security. Best advice I have is keep it up, make darn sure the country knows what kind of kooks you really are.

The WMDs existed, we just haven't found them yet. Now we learn more about where they went, thanks to a #2 man in Saddam's air force, says Iraqi general, Georges Sada. Because he has written a book about it, and also because it totally debunks the theme the Democrats run on, it is likely to be totally ignored by the biased media. However, honorable men that they are, I'm sure they will go to the well in the Senate tomorrow to apologize to the President. Do you think?

Hamas wins the parliamentary elections in Ramallah, West Bank. Although a different outcome would have been better, it's hard to believe that Hamas would have been better if the Fatah party had won. The good news is that unless Hamas has an epiphany and renounces their goal, which is the elimination of Israel, then Israel's enemy and the enemy of the world, this new terrorist state, will be clearly defined.
No longer will we have politicos talking peace on one hand, while Hamas continues killing Israelis, like has happened for the last 30 plus years. (And Jimmy Carter got a Nobel Peace prize for it.) Now it is the Palestinian State itself, no little sub-group of bad guys. And under these circumstances, Israel's response won't have to be with one hand tied behind their back. They would be justified in declaring war in response. And they would win it. Only then will that part of the earth see peace.

Here Here. Way to go BB&T. They won't finance private construction projects where private property was taken for other private use, including 'public purpose' too!
BB&T's Heroic Stand.
Ever since the Supreme Court's egregious and mind-boggling Kelo decision, eminent domain has been a big news story. One bank, BB&T, is making a stand.
Regional bank BB&T Corp., one of the nation's largest financial institutions, will make no loans to developers who plan to build commercial projects on land taken from private citizens by the government through the power of eminent domain, the company said Wednesday.
"The idea that a citizen's property can be taken by the government solely for private use is extremely misguided, in fact it's just plain wrong," John Allison, the bank's chairman and chief executive, said in a statement.
In an interview, BB&T chief credit officer Ken Chalk said the bank expects to lose only a tiny amount of business, but believes it was obligated to take a stance on the issue.

Happy Harry Reid after the Senate Judiciary Committee sent Judge Alito's name to the floor for a vote. If it were only that simple. This will be the third ring in a three ring circus. Meanwhile, 'top Democrats in Congress' are in search of an agenda. An organization called 'Americans United' will be writing the script for the 'lawmakers.' Their claim to fame is how they were instrumental in defeating Bush's Social Security Reform. But that's not all.
The party leaders visited the party pimps (prospective donors) to discuss money and give their assurances on how much they agree with their views. More of the same; accepting the money and singing the tune of the hand that feeds them. Apparently, they wouldn't have a TV ad campaign without them.
Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California met with potential donors in Los Angeles earlier this month, underscoring their personal interest in the group's efforts.
Americans United seeks to shape public opinion on issues such as health care, homeland security and education rather than advocate for the election or defeat of specific candidates in the November elections. As a result, it is permitted to accept donations of unlimited size from donors, and is not required to disclose the names of its contributors. It is headed by Karen Olick, a former chief of staff to Sen. Barbara Boxer (news, bio, voting record), D-Calif., and will rely on several other Democrats with long experience in political campaigns. (emphasis added)
Right, and they're going to go after issues instead of whining. The first will involve "corruption and honest leadership." What that means is that they'll be corrupt and not honest. (emphasis added)
The Democratic legislation calls for a ban on lobbyist gifts to lawmakers as well as other steps to curtail the influence of special interests in Congress. The ad broadens the attack to the White House, saying Bush has given away "billions (of dollars) to the drug companies," an apparent reference to Medicare prescription drug legislation.
Then there's the theme.
"Time for a change," the ad says. "To stop the abuse of power," adds the announcer as Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney appear on the screen. (emphasis added)
Democrat's must have their own definition for honesty. They have to outsource for an agenda? Would Hillary approve of that? And yes, it is possible to show hypocrisy in a single story. Or is that one of those, for it and against it things?

The Cyrus News Agency reports that a blogger in Iran received a 3-year suspended sentence for blogging political opinions contrary to the current Iranian administration.
Journalist and blogger Ahmad Reza Shiri will have a permanent threat hanging over him as a result of the suspended sentence of three years in prison handed down by a court in the northern city of Mashad on 8 January, Reporters Without Borders said today. He was reportedly accused of writing articles in his blog calling for a boycott of last February’s legislative elections.
“Suspended sentences are often used to silence journalists who bother the authorities,” the press freedom organisation said. “The fact that this type of sentence has now been applied to a blogger shows the importance that weblogs have assumed in Iranian society.”
Our best hope for Iran to emerge from this nuclear controversy and idiotic threats against Israel and the UN is for the Iranian people to lead the fight politically. Iran needs more outspoken people and bloggers like Ahmad Reza Shiri. Freedom in Iran, hopefully it's just a matter of time. And hopefully it will happen without the nuclear fallout.

Now moveon.org spokesman, former Vice President, and loser of the 2000 presidential election Al Gore, and the ACLU want to try to criminally prosecute Bush and/or impeach him for doing everything within his power to protect and defend this country. This, after wanting to impeach him and prosecute him for not 'connecting the dots' on the Sept. 11, 2001 attack.
Speaking of which, project Echelon, the secret software snooping program that was developed and used during the Clinton administration, is the technology that was used to gather intelligence that Al Gore calls illegal wiretapping. As I recall, Al Gore was part of that Clinton Administration. Al Gore knew about that program. It was announced to the public when it was developed, then it was dropped as an issue.
The technology is more like data mining than wiretapping. And because of that process, it is not possible to know in advance who the target is. Nevertheless, Al Gore and the rest of the anti-war anti-Bush and anti-American left want to tie one hand behind our back during a war. Not just any war but a war where WMD's used by a terrorist is a possibility. Until the Democrats get on the right side of this war, they won't have a chance at returning to the White House.

This is good. This is what Al Franken rates as a 'hate mail of the day.' They used to be really vicious, calling him dirty names and suggested placements for his head, etc... Now he apparently considers the left's belief system as hateful because this letter speaks to all the things Al loves. It's not particularly hateful, it just the truth. What is debatable is these three things.
'your crappy show' isn't hateful, it's an evaluation.
'idiots' isn't particularly hateful, because that is probably the faintest derogatory I've ever heard come out of the mouth of a flaming liberal, like Al Franken. The word idiot is too common to qualify for the hate mail of the day award.

Iran says let's get it on by refusing any possible UN sanctioned review, by the Security Council or anyone else. I kind of like this fast track through diplomacy that Iran seems to be taking. Time has come for the left to ponder the 'bottom line' with Iran. It comes down to a choice between a bad choice and a worse choice, says Victor Davis Hanson. Will the left in this country be on our side, or Iran's side?

Moving right along on Iran's nuclear program, world leaders, including Europe and all members of the UN Security Council want Iran to end the uranium enrichment program which has nothing at all to do with providing domestic electricity from nuclear reactors. All are in agreement that Iran needs to stop and that the Security Council should take up the matter. I have no expectation that the UN will do anything right away. Left up to them, they wouldn't react until after the mushroom cloud appears, if then.
Another step to the inevitable. Unfortunately, no one in the US knows about it if they depend on the TV for their news. The broadcast TV networks didn't carry any of the hearings, they're not going to cover this, and cable TV news is Alito 24/7. For the last three days of the Senate Confirmation Hearings, we have heard the ethical and moral accusations from the leaders of the Democrat party aimed at Judge Samuel Alito, grandstanding for the media, while his wife Martha (and family) sits in the front row supporting her husband, and showing no sign of distress. Today I saw just how much pain they had caused when Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) apologized for their behavior.
I saw it as it happened today. The channel I had on was showing only Sen. Graham, and by the time he finished, it looked to me like he began to well up with emotion. I did. I knew what he was apologizing for. But when I later saw this video showing Mrs. Alito, I now know why Sen. Graham was so affected.
Those Democrats on the Judiciary committee should feel ashamed of themselves. No apology they could offer now would be enough. They can't. It's their playbook and they aren't going to apologize for that.

Today as the DOW goes over $11,000, which is the first time since before the terrorist attack of 9/11/01, it was a pleasure to hear ABC radio news report it. Speaking to moveon.org, the George Soros wing of the Democrat party, anti-Bush activist John Murtha says he 'fears' that a troop withdrawal under Bush will look like a victory for Bush instead of a victory for Democrats. The parallel universe that he lives in blatantly ignores the fact that victory in Iraq IS the whole point. Murtha misses that in his singular focus on ending Bush's career, while simultaneously ending his own.

A Story I Never Saw.
This is from RedState:
If you're a regular reader of Turkish Press or Geo in Pakistan, you already know that on December 23,
Three Algerians arrested in an anti-terrorist operation in southern Italy are suspected of being linked to a planned new series of attacks in the United States, Interior Minister Giuseppe Pisanu said Friday.
The attacks would have targeted ships, stadiums or railway stations in a bid to outdo the September 11, 2001 strikes by Al-Qaeda in New York and Washington which killed some 2,700 people, Pisanu said.
But if you have been relying on the U.S. media to warn you about things like this, you haven't heard anything about it.
The blockbuster article by Steve Hayes linked to below notes that many of the terrorists who trained in Saddam's camps in Iraq prior to 2003 were from North Africa. It would be interesting to know whether some of the Algerians who were plotting to "outdo the September 11, 2001 strikes" were trained by the Iraqi army. It would also be interesting to know whether NSA intercepts played a role in catching these terrorists. [Power Line]

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Thursday that he hoped for the death of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The same President who recently suggested that Israel be "wiped off the map." This same President of Iran who is determined to develop nuclear weapons. So, does the self-described opposition party have a plan for all possible contingencies, or will they just wait for Bush to act and then oppose him?
Will someone please ask Hillary, or Kerry, or John Murtha, or Joe Biden, or Harry Reid, or Nancy Pelosi if they have a plan on how to deal with Ahmadinejad?
Democrats have the perfect opportunity here to show how they might handle him if they were in the White House. Of course, that is assuming that they would want us to know what they would really do.

Those who oppose a school voucher system, teachers unions and liberals, do so for just one reason, control. Their emphasis is always on spending on schools and teachers (bricks, equipment, more teachers, better benefits, higher salaries), instead of teaching the students. It means job security with little accountability for them. It also means dead-ending children in failing schools with no way out except for those who can afford to send their children to a private school, where the emphasis is producing educated students with the resources they already have.
Time for the state legislature to step up to the plate and save the educating of our kids to the parents, not the court.
State Supreme Court rules vouchers unconstitutional. The Florida Supreme Court struck down the state's voucher system that allows some children to attend private schools at taxpayer expense, saying it violates the state constitution's requirement of a uniform system of free public schools. What happens when intelligence is wrong? History tells us that it becomes a lie. So much for the media's claim that they act as the filter to weed out bogus stories. As newspaper circulation and subscriptions decline, where are journalism students going to find work once they graduate?
And where's the latest poll of how the MSM's credibility has reached an all-time low?
Sympathies go out to the families of those who died. No sympathy for the media that was too full of itself to get such a story right.

We've seen it happen to public officials like, Michael Steele, Secretary Rice, Secretary Powell, and Clarence Thomas, now even the homeless are targeted. How much irrational, blind hatred must some Democrats hold toward their fellow citizens? The whole Democrat party mechanism needs a political enema.
American blacks who are affiliated with the Republican Party are vigorously vilified by Democrats, especially black Democrats. Uncle Tom, sell-out, Oreo--the list of slurs is long.
Prejudice. Black Republicans should be able to live without fear. [OpinionJournal.com]
