Al Gore brings the disappointing news today. Al Gore, the ever inspirational optimist. What? He won't be re-running for president in 2008.  I think he wants to beat Bill out of UN Secretary General after Kofi Annan goes home.

"I'm not planning to be a candidate again. I haven't reached a stage in my life where I'm willing to say I will never consider something like this,'' he said.  "But I'm not saying that to be coy; I'm just saying that to be honest that I haven't reached that point.''

Known as The Black Fives, here's a little bit of history I bet you didn't know.  The Rens is the tip of the iceberg.  A great story and a not insignificant part of Black American history.  If you're like me, this short article by Martin Johnson will leave you wanting to know more.

Growing up in the 50's & 60's, all I knew about basketball was that it was something you do in high school.  As a freshman, I found that I wasn't cut out for basketball and left it at that.   This article opened my eyes to something I had never heard of.  Go back and catch up.
