It seems that rabid-radio, otherwise called Air America Radio, is on its way to a new direction. Bankruptcy. Will investor (boy is that ever a misnomer?) and AAR director Mike Papantonio pony up some more bucks to carry them over for one more year?
From NewsMax; Air America Denies Bankruptcy Report.
Franken, however, confirmed that the network, which debuted in March 2004, is suffering from cash-flow problems. He told Radar Online about the bankruptcy claim: "I don't know if that's true or not. We do know that there have been cash-flow problems. I haven’t been paid in a while. Like, there’s no cash flowing to me.”
Maybe they just weren't rabid enough, maybe they just need one more year of paying people to carry their program before sponsors will come to their senses and pay to keep them on the air through advertising? There's something about that business plan that is missing. It's the same thing that has always been missing. Demand. There's always the possibility that their talkers would stay on for no pay. Many of them are multi-millionaires anyway.
Meanwhile, if you want to help keep Air America on the air, send them a contribution if you're a wealthy democrat or republican. There's probably nothing that the Papster would like more than to advocate in a court somewhere that they need the 'fairness doctrine' back because it's not fair that people don't drink their cool-aid. WwwWaaaaaa!!!
