In most cases, no news is good news. But when it comes to the MSM and the Bush administration, it means something else. It means sticking to the agenda, sticking to the story line.

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin still making excuses for his performance. Before a convention of Black journalists, he says it's because he, and 60% of New Orleans, is Black.

I wonder if this is what Mayor Ray Nagin had in mind for New Orleans? Things in the Crescent City are beginning to flourish. That is if you call rising violent crime and rising drug trade a recovery.

Fill The FEMA Trailers

Today's news from FEMA is that there is about 10,700 trailers that were 'staged' for distribution to families who were displaced by hurricane Katrina. Problem is, they're empty. Word is they are there because they couldn't be shipped to N.O. and similar disaster areas because they are in a flood plain. Well DUH. And the law says you can't put temporary housing in a flood plain. Has anyone suggested those trailers get hooked up right where they are, or another suitable place not in a flood plain, and put them to use?

Mr. Mayor Wants A Chocolate City

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin says he wants 'a chocolate' New Orleans. The Mayor Nagin needs some of that good old sensitivity training. And on Martin Luther King Holiday no less. Apparently he doesn't know who Dr. King was and what he believed.

Economy Humming Along, Sustaining Katrina's Impact

I've heard more than one analysis on the strength of the economy as being especially strong, characterizing it as being able to take a hit from hurricane Katrina and the devastation of New Orleans. And despite all that, the unemployment numbers are still great. Attributing the economy's strength as being especially strong makes the assumption, or presumption, that most of the displaced in New Orleans were productive working people. The anticipated uptick in unemployment did not occur after Katrina due in no small part to the fact that many weren't working before the hurricane hit.

Do Class Action Lawyers Smell Blood In The Water?

Oh no. What are the chances that Pensacola's own Mike Papantonio, the 'class action' kingpin, is smelling blood in the water? Would that be beneath him to do? I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and think that it is. What, between his stunningly successful talk radio show at Air America Radio called the Ring of Fire (a non-profit I think), and keeping Vioxx out of existence, heading up that mega class-action action upon Merck, he might have a full plate already.
