Sen. Allen accused by one person, and not from 17 others who knew him from college some 30 years ago, of using the N word. And boy is the left in a political tizzy over that? They have a one-page playbook. Don't discuss issues, destroy them personally and professionally so you can win by default.

Homeschooling, school vouchers, accountability, all are ways to combat 'the soft bigotry of low expectations' when it comes to educating our children to become successful and productive members of society. That goal isn't a race thing, its a human thing. The demographics of 'the educated' can, however, be described in racial and ethnic terms, but only at the risk of being counterproductive. There is evidence now that homeschooling among Black families is on the rise, the results of which can only be good for the kids, the families, and society.

The shift to the left in the political spectrum that the democrat party has achieved in the last year, has caused them to leave their legacy base behind. As a result, Sen. Joe Lieberman is now running as an independent for his own three-term seat because today's democrat party has shunned him. What with his 90% voting record in sync with his party. About the only thing I can think of that democrats are color-blind in with respect to race is their quest for the liberal mantra. Now Blacks aren't liberal enough. And this, from a constituency that votes 92% democrat.

More from the 'open tent' party. After shunning Sen. Joe Lieberman because of his position on the war on terror, the heavyweights at the DNC are threatening more who don't tow the line. But first on the agenda is to change their primary rules "with the aim of expanding the presence of minorities, gays, lesbians, bisexuals, trans-gender people and people with disabilities in the party." This is the first indication I've noticed where the DNC is looking to expand minorities in real political positions. Are they feeling a need to catch up to the GOP, where minorities stand on their ability?

Just a wild guess, but maybe if they got out in front of this issue by constantly denouncing any and all the terrorists attacks, instead of being mute, things might different. If profiling bothers you, get used to it. Expect it. If the terrorists matched a profile of a fat old white guy, I'd expect to be scrutinized more too. The silence coming from Mosques in our neighborhoods can too easily be misunderstood.

Washington D.C. politics has been under Democrat purview and control for decades. Unfortunately, democrats don't have any success stories they can point to that might instill confidence in voters to re-elect them for yet another term. The dollars per child that the District spends on education is among the highest in the nation and with what result? Only 58.1% of Black students that enter high school will graduate. In the same district, the graduation rate for White students is 84%. Candidate Dennis Moore correctly sees the problem as people and family oriented, rather than financial. 'It's the people stupid' is the tough-love message that Moore brings to the city. It's not that people are the problem, but rather the culture that the people are in is more destructive than constructive. Like actor Bill Cosby, Dennis Moore carries the right message, to the right people, and is determined to turn this up-hill battle into a new Washington.

Pretty low, and not surprisingly, the worst are in the big cities. My guess? Philly is where New Jersey goes to buy drugs. The kids drop out early to start making a living on the street. The clothes and the x-rated rap music seem to take priority and have more influence than school. These are problems that aren't created in the classroom, nor are they fixed there.

There's a lot of time between now and the mid-term elections this November, politically speaking that is. Call it wishful thinking on this conservative's part, but the growing support for Sen. Sarbanes' (D-Md) senate seat for candidate and Maryland's Lt. Gov. Michael Steele (R) has got the attention of the Democrats outside the State motivated to campaign against him. Mostly because Michael Steele is Black, not because he is Republican. They see it as pivotal, and I agree.
