Re: moving Radio from Userland's server to my own, what's needed?. Ross, Rhye is correct. You should only need to complete the basic FTP information in the FTP section of preferences.

I would add one caveat. For the path setting, use the complete path from the server root. While this is not required in any of the FTP clients I use (or other software that enables FTP), it seems to be helpful in using Radio FTP.

For most applications, I am able to enter as my path:

public_html/publicsquare/

For Radio, I use

/usr/www/users/<myusername>/publicsquare/

which will vary depending on the server configuration, of course.

Re: moving Radio from Userland's server to my own, what's needed?. Ken's right on the path issue. It's Radio's built in FTP client is pretty basic and needs the full path.

Re: moving Radio from Userland's server to my own, what's needed?. Ross,
If you are on Radioland servers and you want to move to your own server, you would fill out the information on this page:

http://127.0.0.1:5335/system/pages/prefs?page=1.5

You would use the information you have typed above and input that into the boxes on that page and don't forget to put a tick in the check box to turn on the FTP and when you are done scroll down to the submit button and click it.

That should begin the upstreaming of your entire weblog, so depending on how much data that needs to upstream and what type of internet service you have, it should take a few minutes. After a few minutes, check the new url for your blog site and see if it was successful.

If it wasn't successful check the events page from your desktop homepage and check for any errors and paste them here. You may also want to re-run the steps and you can also try manually republishing your entire website.

Username = username to your server site
Password = password to your server site

What you have for server, path and URL looks correct.

Let us know how it goes. [Radio UserLand Messages]
