Kerry's Swift Boat Adventures

In the wake of a group of Swift Boat vets who served 'with' Kerry, claiming that Kerry is the one misleading this country about his 4 months in Vietnam, maybe now Kerry will get around to discussing his record of 19 years in the Senate. Or, maybe not.

For Kerry, it depends on whether it is more beneficial to his campaign to try to keep everybody back in the 60's than to campaign on his record as a U.S. Senator. Neither one will help his campaign. It's a choice he really deserves to make.

And whatever happened to that 'bring it on' Kerry of a few months ago?

So the Swift Boat Vets answer. And what does Kerry do?

First, he won't personally and specifically rebut any point made by the vets.

Second, he and the willing biased media do all they can to divert from the substance by trying to 'shoot the messenger.' Never mind that those vets are also decorated war veterans, and not all Republicans either.

Thirdly, he directs his lawyers to try to silence them by threatening to sue the broadcasters who may run their ad, and basing their complaint on flat out lies. First and foremost being their claim that those men weren't on Kerry's boat. Everyone knows this, including the vets who never claimed to be in his boat or serving under him. Fact is, they were on their own boats, serving in the same unit.

If there ever was an example, a textbook example, of the tactics that the leaders of the Democrat party live by and employ, it is the scenario above. It's more than just a double standard. Their M.O. involves deception and intimidation. The 'perception is reality' syndrome has become inculcate in the Democrat party.
