Papantonio & Kennedy Talk Radio & Air America

Since January 2004, this blogger has made several attempts at starting a dialog with 'big law'yer Mike Papantonio. This, because on his WEAR-TV news debut he showed his character to be no different than Michael Moore when discussing what he has characterized as a new business venture, talk radio.

He stated very clearly that his show, and Air America, would be the response to 'the fat drug addict with a tie.' Well, his one hour per week show was only on for 30min. /week until just recently when it was brought up to the full hour that his website advertises.

When claiming to be a competitor in the talk radio industry, you really need to compete. Papantonio's show is called the "Ring Of Fire". Nice volatile name, implying a lot of action. It is nothing of the sort.

Papantonio & Kennedy are comparing apples to oranges if they think they are any kind of competition to their nemesis, Rush Limbaugh.

To compete in talk radio, you have to take calls from listeners. They don't. Their show is pre-recorded, with guests who have a lovefest with their hosts in bashing the Bush Administration and the President himself. Recently we heard from Molly Ivins and Bill Moyers appear with zero differing opinions taken. It's a pep rally for the left, it's not talk radio.

Similarly, they don't respond to listener questions submitted on their website for that purpose. Because this show is pre-recorded, the hosts are kept insulated from dissenting opinions. Limbaugh doesn't run & hide.

What ever happened to the Ring Of Fire? It would be more accurate to refer to it as The BlowTorch instead because no one can enter the Ring Of Fire.

I've been eager to hear Papantonio's opinions on things such as:

Senate Judiciary Committee's Memogate Scandal, involving Ted Kennedy, Elaine Jones, Olati Johnson.

On recess appointments to the federal bench the President made in December.

On Jay Rockefeller's Senate Intelligence committee's memo describing a tactic to politicize intelligence to hurt Bush, which is playing out today as we speak.

On the strongest economic recovery in two decades.

On how outsourcing effects our economy.

On how 'nation building' is harmful, as they claim. But don't omit Haiti, Bosnia, Serbia, Germany, Japan, and France.

On how relinquishing our sovereignty and security to world bodies like the corrupt-to-the-core United Nations will benefit us.

For reasons known only to him, I'm still awaiting what would be his first reply.

His law partner, Leo Thomas, calls for "No more lies; no more secrecy; no more hypocrisy; no more nation building; no more tax breaks for the rich; and no more out-sourcing of jobs." These are all maladies of the left, which he attempts to shift to the right. They relish class warfare and divide us as a people at every opportunity. Edward's 'two Americas' is by definition divisive. It's the 'perception is reality' game that they are so good at. Don't buy into it.

The election contest this year is shaping up pretty clearly. The most liberal ticket ever presented is embodied by the Kerry campaign. They are supported by huge special interests groups like the NEA (National Education Assoc.), the ABA (American Bar Assoc.), AFL-CIO, and billionaires like George Soros on the financial side. They circumvented campaign finance reform in the name of 527's. On the social side there is the NAACP and Jesse Jackson's 'family' that perpetuate racial tension and division, and deride black conservatives as pawns of whitey. The Congressional Black Caucus is paramount in their vitriol against the administration and against blacks that don't share their views and suggest that the UN needs to monitor our election. Shameful, just shameful.
